lighting retrofits

Retrofit just makes sense
One of the fastest, lowest cost and most effective energy efficiency measures for home, business or factory is a lighting retrofit. You can save on maintenance and electricity costs while improving the quality of your lighting. It’s no wonder LED retrofits are incredibly popular.
What is a retrofit?
Our lighting specialists can show you a range of options to reduce your energy costs and improve productivity and comfort with lighting retrofits.
The general term, “lighting retrofit”, can include:
- Relamping – replacing existing lamps (bulbs) with more efficient ones,
- Retrofit – installing “kits” in existing fixtures for more efficient or brighter/better lighting, and
- Replacement – installing new lighting fixtures.
We’re here to help you with:
Incandescent lighting
This type of lighting has been used for decades, primarily in homes and private offices. Incandescent lighting is very warm and comfortable but it is also quite energy-inefficient and generates significant heat which increase air conditioning loads.
Fluorescent lighting
This type of lighting was developed to provide large amounts of light more economically than incandescent lighting. The traditional long, thin tube-like fluorescent lamps are found everywhere from office buildings to supermarkets. Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs) have appeared over the past few decades as replacements for traditional incandescent bulbs. Recent improvements in fluorescent lighting have improved energy efficiency and reduced environmental issues, however CFLs are being displaced by other lighting options.
Halogen lighting
This is a more advanced type of incandescent lighting. It produces much more light for a given bulb size, however it also operates at high temperatures. Halogen lighting works well in special applications such as highlighting small areas or lighting large areas such factories.
LED lighting
Light-Emitting Diode (LED) lighting is very different from all other forms of lighting because an LED is a solid-state semiconductor. Unlike other types of lighting, LEDs don’t contain gases or coatings that need to be excited to generate light. Many computer, smartphone and TV screens are made up of thousands of minuscule LEDs. The LEDs used for lighting are physically much larger but produce substantially more light. LED lighting is rapidly improving in form, functionality and light color while also dropping in price as production volumes increase. The super energy-efficiency and extraordinarily long life suggest LEDs will eventually replace most other types of lighting.
Multiple ways to achieve ROI
LED lighting has a much longer life and lower maintenance cost than incandescent, fluorescent, and halogen lighting. If you manage a property or facility, you know that changing ballasts and replacing HID lamps in parking lot poles is expensive. With LED retrofits, those maintenance costs are a thing of the past.
Additionally, LED energy use is a fraction of what is required of even the most efficient legacy lamps. You’ll see an immediate reduction in your energy bill, while increasing the quality of your lighting.
Certain lighting retrofits are also eligible for different financial incentives…we will explain how these can help you save even more money when installing new lighting.
